Every year during the final trimester, seniors are given the privilege and responsibility of designing and securing an off-campus internship. The program offers a transition between a controlled school environment and the freedom of college life. This program offers an opportunity for students on the brink of entering a world beyond high school to consider some of their options and to explore the working world. Each student can discover and experience a profession of interest. We hope that these internships will also instill in students an appreciation of the many choices adults make in their daily lives.
By March, each senior must have approached a business or organization and created a plan for working at least 80 hours. The internship takes place in May after seniors’ exams. During the internship, seniors check-in on campus weekly. In addition, attendance is required in all AP classes prior to the AP exams. Internships are graded on a Credit/No Credit basis.
