Student Life

The Commons at Lafayette

The Commons is the heart of daily life on our Lafayette campus. It serves as the central hub where students eat lunch, collaborate on projects, meet with teachers, or catch up with friends.
New in 2018, The Commons has a state-of-the-art kitchen from which our food service vendor, Darioush Epicurus, crafts fresh meals to serve the Bentley community. Daily meals include A la Carte items, a daily hot entree, homemade soups, a variety of beverages, grab and go options as well as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free choices. Students enjoy lunch in the Commons, at picnic tables around campus, or on the grassy quad. In case of rain, several indoor options are available. Upper School seniors with privileges are permitted to leave campus for lunch.

In addition to being a lunch space, The Commons is a center for student life, and it often features student art shows, jazz concerts, and school dances. With its high ceilings and glass walls, The Commons overlooks the central quad and offers a sweeping view of campus life.

Students take pride in this space and work hard to both foster and maintain the community spirit associated with it. Much like a college campus, you will see students moving freely through the space during transitions and free periods, depending on individual schedules.

The food at Bentley is actually really good! I love all the options for lunch, especially the salad bar.
