Phoenix Rising Program

Making a positive impact

Recently, Bentley launched our community-wide Phoenix Rising Program, which provides a platform for our students, families, and teachers to extend good work and good wishes, especially during this challenging time.

Born out of the desire to support the frontline workers of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, this program aims to recognize and thank those who are ensuring that all of us stay healthy and safe.

The support for this program has been overwhelming and more opportunities to participate will be available on a regular basis. If you are interested in volunteering or have suggestions or questions, please email rise@bentleyschool.org.

Arlene Hogan, Head of School

Each day, we need to remind ourselves that we will get through this challenging time. Optimism is contagious and spreading it is a pleasure for the giver and the receiver. Let’s do our best to remember all we have, instead of what we feel may have been lost. Together, we will go forward.

Current Phoenix Rising Initiative

Technology resources for elementary students
Bentley Upper Schooler Cole F. ‘22, is working to become an Eagle Scout and is spearheading a project to help students beyond Bentley gain access to much-needed technology resources. We are currently requesting donations of usable computers, power cords, keyboards, headsets, and tablets.

Under the leadership of Bentley’s technology team, along with student volunteers, this project provides an opportunity for excess technology to be collected, sanitized, reformatted, and distributed. Thanks to Bentley alumna, Alex Brandenburg ‘06, who teaches at OUSD’s Garfield Elementary School, Bentley will partner with Garfield Elementary in this initial public/private partnership.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Advancement Office. If you have electronic devices to donate, please fill out this form. We are excited to have the chance to come together as a school community in this impactful way to support the greater good of the communities surrounding us.
