Women's Soccer Soars in Inaugural Winter Season

When the decision was made to switch women's soccer to the winter season, there was a level of uncertainty about how the Phoenix would fare against a much higher level of competition than they had ever been up against. Of course, the team came into this season with a boost of confidence after winning the 2019 North Coast Section title, but they knew that finding the same level of success in the winter season would be an elevated level of challenge. In true Phoenix fashion, the Bentley women's soccer team has risen to the occasion. They currently sit with an impressive 9-1-1 record, and are 5-1 in league play with two regular season games remaining. Highlighting their performance this season is a 2-1 win over league rival Head-Royce on January 10th. Bentley will travel to Head-Royce this Friday, February 7th for a 3:30 p.m. game. A win on Friday will secure the Bay Counties League - East title and an automatic bid to the first round of the North Coast Section Playoffs. To be a contender for a league title is something to be proud of, and to be in that position as a first-year winter competitor is an even bigger accomplishment. We hope to see many members of the Bentley community travel to Head-Royce this Friday to show support for our women's soccer team!

Men's and women's varsity basketball will finish league play against College Prep this Saturday. Both teams will qualify for the Bay Counties League - East tournament with the semifinals being played on Thursday, February 13th. The location of these semifinal games will be dependent on the final standings in league play, which will be determined on Saturday.
