Student Life

Life at Bentley

Forming Friendships & Exploring Interests

The Bentley School experience doesn’t end with the final class of the day. Our students and faculty extend learning beyond the classroom. Bentley students stay on campus to meet with friends, work with classmates, and explore new interests—from sports and the arts to clubs and special events.

In a typical week, a Bentley student might spend their afternoons involved in athletic practices and games, plays or music rehearsals, academic or special-interest club meetings, and tutoring and group studies. All of these opportunities – and many others – afford our students the opportunity to hone leadership, time management, and collaborative skills, strengths upon which they will build for years to come.
Bentley students are fearless learners and inspired individuals. All divisions encourage respectful and kind treatment of others, emphasizing inclusion in activities and friendship. Our students take pride in old and new school traditions and enjoy opportunities to show their Phoenix spirit together, whether it's in weekly Town Meetings, drama productions, music performances, or athletic events.

Life at the Upper School Lafayette Campus

The twelve-acre Lafayette campus features a state-of-the-art playing field and an expansive academic quad bordered by the Athletic Center and Student Commons. Upper School students engage in numerous academic, artistic, and athletic endeavors, whether in the classroom, on the field, in the science labs, on stage, or in the Maker Space. Each student contributes to the well-being of the community through our numerous student clubs and service-learning opportunities.

Life on the Hiller Campus

Tucked into six acres in the Oakland Hills, the Hiller campus offers a "home away from home" feeling while promoting excellence in teaching and learning for the youngest members of our community. Teachers guide students in taking risks, learning from their mistakes, and enjoying their successes. The many forms of diversity our families represent, including diversity of thought, create new traditions in a culture of our shared values respect, excellence, and care for one another.
