The Hiller Library serves students in grades K-8, their parents and the faculty. During the school day, students in grades K-5 meet regularly for library classes, while middle schoolers use the library to read for pleasure, collaborate in small groups, and research school assignments. All students are provided with information skills instruction, literature appreciation, and reading incentive programs such as the California Young Readers Medal Award and the Mock Newbery/Caldecott.
The library program is enhanced by residencies of nationally renowned authors, illustrators, storytellers, and puppeteers. These special event help students understand the creative process and make connections to the works of our visiting celebrities.
