K-8 Halloween Parade

Devereaux Smith
Next week we will enjoy our annual Halloween celebration on the Hiller Campus. The festivities begin at 9:00 a.m., with student projects on view in various locations and student musicians playing spooky tunes as you arrive.

Halloween at Bentley is a special treat, but parking is scarce. Carpool as much as possible and note that for ALL special events, Bentley motorists are prohibited from parking along the public streets, on Hiller Drive, in Hiller Highlands, and along Tunnel Road (Condition 14i. per Bentley CUP; TDM pg 14).

Please go directly to the Lake Temescal parking lot at 6500 Broadway to catch the shuttle both to and from campus. We will also have a security guard at the site.

Two (2) shuttle buses will run at the times noted below. This will ensure timely arrival to Bentley School for the start of the parade. Please plan to park your car along the side of the lot closest to Broadway so our security guard knows the Bentley School vehicles.

Depart Lake Temescal: 8:35 a.m. and 8:40 a.m. with an additional shuttle run if needed.
Depart Bentley School: 9:30 a.m.9:45 a.m.10:00 a.m. with the last shuttle leaving Hiller at 10:20 a.m.

This year each grade will be featured in a project and/or performance along with our traditional parade of costumes K-8. Here are the highlights:

  • Kindergarten sing on the Oval
  • First-grade sing on the Oval
  • Second-grade collaborative scarecrows displayed on the stairs
  • Third-grade pumpkin art projects on display
  • Fourth-grade pumpkin biographies on display
  • Fifth-grade excerpt from Macbeth on the Oval and spider projects on display
  • Middle School "Spooktacular" decorating competition on view
  • Third Grade and Middle School Thriller dance performances

Help us make Halloween fun for all students by remembering to send children to school in costumes that are age-appropriate, respectful of all cultures, and not too scary for our youngest students. Keep candy, masks and toy weapons at home.

We look forward to seeing you on Halloween morning!
