K-8 STEM Director Presents at 2018 California STEAM Symposium

David Palange, the Director of STEM, K-8, presented at the 2018 California STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) Symposium last Monday in Long Beach. The California STEAM Symposium is the largest gathering of STEAM educators in California, bringing together more than 3,000 teachers, administrators, students, higher-education representatives, program providers, and philanthropic and industry partners to learn how to improve STEAM teaching in schools, alongside the business sector, and throughout communities. David's presentation focused on a project he developed in the Bentley Lab where third grade students apply design thinking, science, and engineering to design and build a circuit game for younger students. At the conference, David also attended various sessions on STEAM curriculum implemented in other districts and participated in EdCamp, a one-day conference focused on workshops related to making and makerspaces.
