Earlier this year the Upper School Jazz Band submitted a video application for a performance slot at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) conference. The students played in front of more than 5,000 attendees at the February 28 afternoon session, just before the keynote speaker, Frans Johansson. Mr. Ken Berman, Arts Department Chair, expanded the group to nine students from both the Jazz Composition and Musicianship Workshop and the Jazz II class specifically for this event.
