Strong Showings for High School Fall sports
Last week our tennis team recognized their seniors during their final regular-season match against Fremont Christian, a match Bentley won 4-3. This week they competed in the BCL-E team tournament. Though they were knocked out in the semifinals against College Prep, some of the team will compete in the BCL-E singles/doubles tournament next week. The semifinals of this tournament will be hosted at Bentley at on November 5 at 1 p.m.
Our women’s volleyball program defeated Quarry Lane 3-0 in the first round of the North Coast Section playoffs. The #2 seeded Phoenix will host #10 Urban School this Saturday at 7 p.m. Come out and support the team’s quest for a second consecutive NCS Championship appearance!
Our varsity cross country team competed in BCL-E Meet #2 last week and had an impressive showing. Highlighting the meet was junior Thomas Rombach’s first-place finish in the men’s league race. His winning time of 14:40 was only twenty seconds shy of the longstanding course record; with the course being over 400 feet in elevation and 2.5 miles in length, this is truly an outstanding accomplishment.
