Well Beyond Academics "Parenting for Prevention"or

Our 7th grade students will soon be participating in K(NO)W Beyond, substance use prevention education, led by educators from Well Beyond Academics (WBA) - our trusted partner for the past four years. For your reference,  a content overview is provide here. K(NO)W Beyond educators, will be on campus Wednesday, November 12th to Friday, November 14th. During these days, students will be participating in two one-hour sessions with a WBA educator. Together with WBA, we’re excited to bring this important content to our students. 

Recognizing your unique role as your student’s first and primary educator, we invite you to join us for “Parenting for Prevention” (see details below.) This virtual event offers a window into the world of adolescent substance use. With an emphasis on prevention, WBA provides updated information on specific substances typically used by pre/teens, reasons for pre/adolescent use and abuse, and the dangers of addiction. Parenting strategies and communication tips will also be shared for building resiliency and supporting healthy decision-making in pre/teens.
