Bentley School's Chess Masters

The chess Mini-term class was fortunate to visit the oldest continuously run chess club in the United States, the "Mechanics Institute." Located in downtown San Francisco, our group embarked on two trips to join the club for special programming. Students took a tour of the library, participated in a private chess lesson from the club professional, and had the pleasure of meeting the Womans' International Master, Sabrina Chevannes. Chevannes led the group through a lesson and then generously provided her own tips and insights as the Bentley Students played their own games. Case C. put his skills to the test in a game against Chevannes and almost beat her on time!

All in all, it was a wonderful learning experience and a great opportunity to see another part of the Bay by getting off campus. The students are looking forward to future trips!
